1.- Teeth2.- Denture Base3.- Aesthetic4.- Orthodontic Materials5.- Infection Control Products6.- Vacuum Forming Products7.- DenPlus Edition Chair I am not familiar with Dual Form V® tooth line. What are the main characteristics of this line? The choice for this line were according to popular brands sales; choice of 6 popular Bioform® molds and many New Hue®. Vita® Shades were chosen because they are the most popular shade guide in the world. With Dual FormV® you can’t go wrong since all the features are known and popular and the price is right. I have difficulty choosing the molds. What can I do? For your convenience we do have a 50 and a 100 sets kit based on the choice of the most popular molds and shades. What are the most popular teeth molds? The most popular molds in North America are Bioform® 12E, 22E,42F & 55D. In the Dual Form V® these molds are equivalent to L12, L22, L42 & L55. Is there any bleached shade in the Dual Form V® tooth line? Yes, Dual Form V® is the only line in this price range that offers a a bleached shade: the shade A0. Why the tooth color does not match excactly the Vita® shades guide? Plastic and porcelain refract light in different ways. No plastic shade guide will ever match a porcelain one exactly. Dual Form V® have been formulated with the use of Chromascan to achieve the best possible match for your accounts. Some economic teethhave painted second layer that wears off after certain time. Is it the case with Dual Form V®?No. The second layer is not a painted one. The actual acrylic is almost 50% of the thickness of the tooth. What does ADA accepted tooth line means? Dentists and consumers have long recognized the American Dental Association (ADA) Seal of Acceptance as an important symbol of a dental product's safety and effectiveness. ADA accepted means they have passed the following tests: Resistance to abrasion. Heat resistance. Color stabilty & Bonding. Is there any comparative tests between Dual Form V® and other line tooth?Yes. The following tests have been done:

I have difficulty to set up 20°posteriors?These 20°posteriors are copies of the old porcelain molds. If you are not accustomed with these molds you can use de 10°posteriors. Can I cure the impact-20 by putting the falsk directly in boiling water?Yes you can. This acrylic has been modified for this application. With the Impact-20, during the polymerization process, the reaction is controlled in order to avoid porosity. How is it possible to cure the High-Wave in only 3 minutes?A little bit of history :
-
In 1968 some works were done with the regular heat cure acrylics, but the results were awful. After 3 minutes of curing, the temperature was exceeding the boiling point of the monomer (100.8C) creating evaporation that resulted in porosity.
-
By controlling the polymerization reaction, it is now possible to cure even a thick denture in 3 minutes without any porosity. Microwave technic: Is it possible to cure a partial with a metallic cast frame in a microwave?Yes. But the metal will block the waves so you have first to cure one side for 1.5 minutes, then the other side for another 1.5 minutes. Or cure 3 minutes with a standing flask. Why teeth do not bond properly (general)?Studies have shown that 33% of repairs are due to bonding problems. In the majority of cases the way preparation is made is the clue :
- Eliminate properly waxes residuals with a final rinse with clean boiling water.
- Do not use any wax solvent. Thesee products are in majority oil based and create a coating.
- Brush teeth with monomer to clean them properly. Do not use tray monomers; they contain a lot of oil.
Are teeth having more bonding problems with the Impact-20 than with the Impact-plus?The tests made show no difference in bonding between the 2 acrylics. However you have to follow few important intructions.
- If you are using the Impact-20 or the High-Wave, clean teeth with a monomer for overnight curing or a repair monomer. Monomers used for fast curing contain additives that make them subject to less efficacity for cleaning.
- Wait 30 minutes before curing, this waiting period will allow the monomer to penetrate teeth.
- If you are using the Impact-20 for complete curing temperature should reach boiling point.
What is the best procedure to eliminate waxes? The flask should be placed in boiling water for about 5 minutes in order to soften the wax. It is important to not let the wax liquify.
- Open the flask and throw the wax.
- Pour a mixture of boiling water and detergent on the teeth, the model and to eliminate all wax residue. Other option : It is possible to clean with a tooth brush a liquid soap.
- Rinse with clear boiling water to eliminate the detergent.
- Put the flask in standing position to allow water to flow done and cool it.
What cause porosity?Aside from common reasons such as, lack of pressure, lack of meterial, bad monomer, there are also :
Waht causes shrinkage?A bad ratio; too much monomer will create a greater shrinkage. However all acrylics shrink during the polymerization process when the monomer is transformed to a polymer, but too much monomer will agravate the problem. Do DenPlus acrylics contain cadmium?NO. DP-97, DP20, Impact-Plus, Impact-20 and High-wave do not contain any cadmium. To eliminate the residual monomer is long curing a better option?NO. The only thing that eliminates the residual monmer is boiling. So a 2 hours (1.5h at 73 C + .5h at 100C) is better than 8 hours curing at 73C. The longer the boiling time, the more residual monomer is eliminated. Why sometimes I get voids in my dentures ?Using the DP-Pour, or Pour-Plus or any other pourable acrylics the reasons remain the same :
- Air trapped within the mold as result of improper spruing and venting.
- Air trapped within the mold as result of improper pouring: pour slowly through pouring sprue only and gently rock the flask from side to side to displace bubbles.
- Air trapped with the mold because of too viscous mixture. Always follow manufactuer's recommendations exactly as to proportioning monomer and polymer. To have a longer working time keep your monomer and the mixing bowls in the fridge.
Why do teeth detachment happens? This technic is more sensitive than others. It is important to well prepare teeth surfaces.; Clean teeth properly to remove wax residue. Grind ridge-lap area to assure proper bond. What is the active ingredient for tooth whitening in the Stark White gel?It is the carbamide peroxide which is comform to FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations for oral application. Does this kind of products provok complications? Research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth with carbamide peroxide and/or hydrogen peroxide under the supervision of a dentist is safe for teeth and gums. In fact, many dentists consider this whitening process the safest cosmetic procedure available today. However some people will show sensitivity. We do not recommend the use of this product if you are pregnant or lactating. Can it happen that treatments are not effective? There are some cases that the treatment may not be effective. Tooth-lightening is ideal for patients who have healthy, unrestored teeth and would like to have a whiter, brighter smile. Can you make flexible splints with Impak?Yes, this thermo-elastic product, was first marketed for mouthguards, but it is mainly used to fabricate splints. What is the Impak made of?The Impak powder is a polyethyl methacrylate. The liquid is a blend of polyethyl methacrylate monomer and phosphate plasticizers. Are the placitizers dangereous? These types of plasticizers have been used in dentistry for a long time. More than 900 000 appliances have been fabricated with Impak without incident. Why the Impak appliances are white after curing? After laboratory processing, all appliances will appear cloudy. Internal curing is continuing. To accelerate the internal curing, a lab may insert the appliance in a drying oven for 1-2 hours at about 125F (52C). Does Impak adhere to old acrylic? Yes, however some acrylics have a better bonding than others. Any latex in Impak? No What is the principal active ingredient in Micrylium products? These products are Ce sont des produits à base d’éthanol. Infection control products are usually hazardeous on health and environnement. Are Mycrilium products the same? No, These products contain no phenols or aldehydes, they also do not contain recently noted hormone disrupting surfactants based on nonylphenyl ethoxylates. Is it possible to kill a virus like the poliovirus in 1 minute?Tests performed by the CRA (Clinical Research Associates, an organization that is testing dental products for over 20 years) and the AOAC Mycrilium disinfection products elliminate this virus in 1 minute, more than the norm, even in the presence of blood. In these tests In these tests they use bacteries and pathogens (Polio Virus and Mycobacterium Bovis (TB)) with known resistance to disinfectants. BioSurf or BioText? Which one is more effective? It depends on the usage. The Bio Surf is more effective because it disinfect in 1 minute only, compare to the 3 minutes disinfection time of the BioText, but it is not recommanded to be used on plastic and vinyl surfaces. What should you use to disinfect your impressions? For this purpose the Bio Surf is the most effective. Spray it, wait 1 minute and rinse lightly. More, the Bio Surf has surfactants that acts as an inexpensive debubbleizer What products can sterelize the pumice?Use instead of water the diluted Bio Son. Can you immerse dentures in the Bio Surf before delivrering them?Yes. Is this going to change the color of the prostheses? No, if you follow the instructions. You should immerse for only 1 minute. If you leave your appliances for few hours they might be a change of color. Why the ProForm logo stays on mouthguards surfaces when I fabricate them? The ProForm logo is a different density brace, so the sheet should be heated properly (bubble of 2cm) to adapt correctly and it has also to be positionned the right way; approximately 3 mm from the incisal edge on the palatal side of the interiors. If the brace is to high it will not adapt well. Is there a real difference between a laminated sheet and a regular one?Of course, due to the anterionr barce for extra protection and also laminating 2 sheets provides a cross-woven strenght therefor a better protection. Is it possible to have 2 colors on the same mouthguard sheet? Yes and even 3 colors. The combinations are many. Why with the laminated Proform and the dual laminated it is hard to get a good adaptation?Few important points :
- For laminated mouthguard the vacuum sheet should be well heated until 1" dropp develops. If a dual laminate is used, place the soft side of the laminate up toward heating element. Heat until softened ( 2 to 3 minutes). Then flip laminate over and heat hard side for 10 to 15 seconds.
- Models hights should be reduce to maximum. Choose plaster as it is more porous, rather than stone.
- Lack of power in the vacuum former machinel. These types of rigid materials need a more powerful equipment (a double chamber). If you vacuum former is not powerful enough, it is possible to readapt the thermoplastic with a wet cloth. Dental Resources has recently marketed a new effective accessory to adress this problem: a pressure dome (see equipment section of the catalog).
Is the chair lift system hydraulic or mechanical? It is a mechanical system with endless screw. Is the motor quiet? It is very quiet. Does the leather cloth on the chair have seams? No. The cloth is PU style and is seamless,it is very resistant with a smooth finish. Why is there is a water-heater incorporated in the cuspidor? To control water temperature for the cup filler because certain people are sensitive to hot or cold water. Why is everything operated from the foot control? For infection control, it is possible to do everything without touching with the chair. What is the height of the chair from the ground to the seat? At the starting position, the distance between the cushion of the seat and the ground is 650 mm (roughly 22'') and at its full extension, it is 980 mm (roughly 32.5 "). What is the length of the chair when in a horizontal position, (180°)? About 1.9 m (approximately 63'').
